Coconut Shaved Ice - Summer Dessert You Cannot Miss

Under the intense sun of this country, who would say no to this breezing cold sugary treat?

Shaved ice used to be a common sight in the city. However, due to people's trend to enjoy the western ice-cream, which is available in almost every mini mart barely 300 meters from where they currently are, thus shaved ice fades out into hidden caves. If you are lucky enough anyways, you can find it sold in mobile carts.
From late afternoon to early evening, a small local eatery "ផ្្ទះអ្នកបាត់ដំបង" (lit. Battambang People’s House) /ptas nak’ bat-dâm-bâɳ/ serves a variety of snacks albeit to signature dinner hotpot. It is in Toulkok area (maps here), therefore it is quite a distance from where you possible live right now.
The owner confirms that it is of Battambang locals’ recipe, though we cannot verify the claim. To put you in context, Battambang province is the cradle of delicious exotic foods you can find in Cambodia.
This one from the eatery is special however, that it contains freshly shaved coconut meat, served inside a coconut shell, topped with or would we say dropped some chewy dried sweet confectionery, sprinkled with a splash of aromatic palm sugar.
For 5000KHR (US$1.25), you can get a full blown sugary treat that put you into sweetened mood for the rest of the day.
